I was particularly drawn to the chapter on intimacy and how we can develop and nurture it with friends and lovers. I'm still "early" in the book and already recognize many of my relationship (and personal) issues - familiar though they are - being addressed in a new light with logical resolution.
I purchased this book because I figured there is always room to learn... and why wouldn't I want to EVOLVE? The author's writing-style conveys information effectively, yet it is simultaneously both entertaining and enlightening to the reader based on his ability to draw from various perspectives. His clear language and structured chapters appeal to my logical side, while his anecdotes paint portraits that entice my empathetic side. Upon completion, I have definitely learned from his words look forward to applying them.
Evolve has shown me how to become more self aware of how my actions and how my feelings effect my every day relationships. This book will be a tremendous help to me because I've often wondered why relationships often don't work out , not just in my own life but in the lives around me. Evolve shows how to step out of the drama and truly find honest solutions to just about every relationship issue. I truly believe that this book can help everyone from every walk of life.
Relationship Dynamics, Evolve series has been so helpful to me and my relationships. It's rare to find a book that can be immediately helpful, and can be put to practical use in daily life! With the help of Evolve, my relationships and my understanding of conflict and my ability to resolve conflict has improved significantly! I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released!
This is such a wonderful book, it's a guide book for dealing with the many challenging aspects of being in a relationship, as well as being packed with valuable guidance for just getting along with oneself, and the world at large. I'm not one for 'self-help' books, but this one is fun, very straightforward and uncomplicated. It reads like a gentle mirror, showing our varoius emotions and actions and how they affect us, and offers some very practical ways of dealing with the basic human interaction and emotion problems that we all face. I think everyone should read this book- then people would all get along better, and the world would be a much saner place, really!
Relationship Dynamics is a must read for anyone seeking advice on developing and maintaining healthy relationships. Steven DeSalvo’s insightful expertise is both thought-provoking and comforting, as he sheds light on his own vulnerabilities to cast all important shadows on our own. I particularly liked the content dealing with inclusivity and the importance of taking responsibility (both personally and collectively).
I can’t say enough about this book, but I will add . . . BUY IT! You won’t be disappointed.
I am enjoying this book! Just began reading it, and feel that I have to hurry and write a few lines for potential readers who could be helped by this. Indeed, all of us sail through life without rudder or compass, and to say that we don't need the help of a third eye, is naive, at best. EVOLVE is introduced as "...EVOLVE is a series of books about the discovery of the meaning of life and how we can thrive as responsible Adults in a world of extreme change."
I believe this work lives up to its description. Steven DeSalvo's readers testify to how his work has helped them understand their relationships better. I am a widow, after a happy marriage that lasted for decades, and I can see how our love for each other helped us cement our bond to the degree that even though my husband is gone now, I still feel I am married to him. Yes, every relationship success has to start out with the basic core, LOVE and the will to make it work. For the rest, well, see what EVOLVE can assist you to achieve.
